Not Too Sure About This Snow Thing...

Sarah wasn't too sure about the whole idea of snow, though she did venture out and walk around in it....even picked up a couple handfuls of it while building the snowman. But this is how she looked most of the time! :)

Frosty the Snowman

I negotiated with the girls today, as they were just BEGGING to go outside and play. They have both been sick, and even though we got some really great medicine from the doctor today, they are coughing and sniffly. I told them 30 minutes would be okay, but no more than that. Well, Katherine went right to work on a snowman, giving up only a few minutes into her project. So I helped them build a pint-sized Frosty, and they got to put in the carrot and raisins for his eyes and nose. :) Nothing fancy, but they are VERY proud of their snowman!! (Oh - I also have to note that Katherine fought with me over putting the raisins on without her gloves! She obviously won, and I'm glad she did because after they were off she had a much better time holding on to them!)

Snow, Snow...and MORE Snow!

We got a pretty mean dose of ice over the last couple days, and a really good dose of snow topped it off last night. From the middle of the driveway I was able to measure 3 1/2 inches of snow, but last night when was out in the ice, there was another 3 1/2 inches of that.... so we are iced/snowed in! And despite the hassle of ice and snow, it truly is beautiful. It's hard to get too upset when you look out your window and see this.... now if only the kids weren't so sick, they would get to play in it!

We dropped off Kent at the hotel before he left again for Iraq, and Katherine immediately fell in love with the lounge chair in his room! I have to say it...it looks more child-sized than adult anyway, so I thought it was quite appropriate that she scurry over to it! I also have to admit I love the color.... Finally! A hotel that embraces lime green! (Oh, and ya, Sarah's got her finger in her nose - SO gross. It's a really bad habit of hers lately.....two-year-olds.....gotta love them!)

My grandfather is going to kill me for posting this, but it's tooooo funny not to!! We celebrated his, as the waitress called it, "21st birthday again" at Texas Roadhouse. Here he is on the birthday saddle!

Snow!

We had a beautiful snowfall the other day (we won't mention that it froze our pipes and caused them to burst....okay, yes we will - ugh!), and the girls LOVED it! Katherine's favorite part was catching snowflakes on her tongue, and Sarah loved just running through it!

The girls celebrated Christmas a little late with my side of the family, but they didn't seem tired of presents! Here are some pictures of them opening their gifts!

What a busy week we've had! It's taken me a while to get pictures posted, but I am finally getting around to it.... Hope this post finds everyone well and in good spirits. It has certainly been a trying few months for us, but I find comfort in knowing that God's love and grace blesses our lives on a daily basis. Enjoy the pictures!
