Kenny requested a birthday meal at Texas Roadhouse (after he witnessed Grandpa's encounter with the saddle of course!). So here he is, in Birthday Glory!! YEE HAW!

Beautiful Girls
I tried to get some pretty shots of the girls with the flowers on the tree, but they didn't feel much like cooperating. Fortunately, I was able to snap a few decent ones (quick finger you know :) ). Maybe if it's nice out today we will try again... they are increasingly ornery when it comes to picture taking! They actually feed off of each other, trying to distract the other. They just crack up at their antics, so as frustrating as it gets, it's quite an entertaining sight to watch them!
Just Showing Off Our Wheels
The weather, when it's not raining, has been beautiful, and we try to soak up as much sun as we can! The girls rode around on their bikes for a little while yesterday, though Sarah's is too small (she is reluctant to change bikes...she's a bit attached to the one she uses I suppose). Since Miss Katherine's birthday is just a month away, the plan is to get her a new bike with training wheels and upgrade Sarah to the bike Katherine is using now. My guess is that Sarah will be more than happy to take Katherine's bike, though she doesn't want anything to do with the tricycle in the garage..... It's more fun to take from her sister I guess! :)
The Beauty of God's Creation
It is SO nice to look out our windows when we have our meals or are spending time in the kitchen... The tree is blooming and it ju
st really showcases the beauty in nature. Granted, all of our allergies are going crazy right now (how can something be so pretty and so annoying at the same time??), but the view remains pleasant. If only we could keep it looking like this year round! (minus the allergie
s of course!)

Tid Bits
Katherine likes me to sing her a song before bed, and every now and then she will do so by requesting the specific song she would like to hear. Today, before quiet time, she asked for the "Pretty Horses" song (not sure what the real title is...) and a line in it goes "when you wake, you shall have all the pretty little horses." Now, this is a song she has heard several times before, but today she looked at me with a puzzled expression. She then asked, "Mommy...does that mean Sarah can't play with my horses?" Oh boy...only Katherine would gather that from a bedtime song!
The other day, I smelled something quite unpleasant. I knew it had to be Sarah's diaper. Try as we may, she has little interest in potty training. We've tried the bribes of candy and toys and special privileges...nothing seems to work! She is adamant about having a diaper on her bottom! So I asked her, "Sarah, is your diaper icky?" She said plainly, "No." I probed further, "Are you SURE you don't have an icky diaper? It smells like you do." She then said "I don't have an icky diaper...just an icky butt."
It's been a couple weeks since this last story, and I can't believe I forgot to share! We were having dinner and I surprised the girls with chocolate pudding as their dessert. This also happened to be a rather "prissy" day as far as their playing goes - dressed up, hair fixed, fake jewelry, even dressy shoes and "make up" of the invisible sort. Anyway, they were eating and Sarah got some pudding on her nose (no surprise there!). Of course they had their mirrors at the table with them (because what proper girl doesn't carry a mirror in her pink fuzzy purse??), and Sarah noticed the pudding on her nose in her mirror. She said to me "I have a boo-boo on my face. I need a band-aid." Katherine said, without missing a beat, "Sarah that's not a boo-boo on your face, that's just your nose." I had to laugh, because in a normal social situation, a comment like that would be offensive... Oh the things you can get away with when you're young and adorable...

Inspired
I took the pictures of the pretty blooms on our trees and it was my inspiration for filling in our new wall panel (we had a leak in our plumbing for the shower so there was a hole cut into the wall and an access panel made). I wanted it to look intentional, so I thought if I painted it to match, it might look less like an access panel and more like a piece of art. For my first attempt, I am very satisified. It's an abstract interpretation of cherry blossoms, but it gives the look I was hoping for. :)

Watching the Cars Go By....
Blowing Some Bubbles...
The weather has been AMAZING the last few days, and the girls and I have been certain to take advantage of it. With the exception of a sideways downpour today, it's been nothing but sunny skies! That meant it was time to bring out the bubbles! Katherine and Sarah both love to blow them and watch them float away...and when they get bored with that, I just blow them and they run around the yard trying to catch as many as they can! If anything else, it's a great way to burn up some energy. :)
