Clearwater Lake

I almost forgot to post the picture of the boat! The girls were so excited to see some boats out on the water, so I took a picture of the first one they saw! There is also a picture of the lake from where we were playing at the playground. I just can't say it enough - it is beautiful down here, especially this time of year!

Spring Valley

We ate at the Spring Valley Bar and Grill, where we got these pictures. One is from the little bridge right outside the restaurant - the girls LOVE to walk on it and watch the water before we go inside. And the other picture is our last resort to settle them down!! They were so riled up from playing at the lake that they didn't want to sit still while we waited for our food. Thank goodness for technology, because I had a kid's TV show on my iPod, which was perfect to calm them a bit before we ate! I thought it was humorous to see them just sitting at the table, watching the show, completely oblivious to everything going on around them! :)

When You're Living in God's Country...

...you just about walk out your back door and get pictures in places like this :) The girls were still long enough for a few pictures, though I would have preferred to get a few more! Enjoy!

Playground Fun!

We all went out last night to the park at the lake (beautiful view of the lake from there!) and then to a little bar and grill to celebrate my last day of finals! I'm looking forward to some extra time with the kids now that I have about 2 weeks off before starting up again. The girls had a GREAT time playing on the playground!

The Mane Attraction!

Katherine and Sarah got all gussied up today (which means they took off all of their clothes except their dance skirts...oh my...), so I thought it would be fun to do their hair too. So I turned my straightener on the lowest setting and ran it through their hair. Here are the results!! Sarah looks SO different and they both have long hair, which is often hard to tell because it's curly and wispy... I love the look on both of them!

Because Fish Need Lunch Too

The girls made a trip to the lake today too while I was home working on a paper. Here are some pictures of them feeding the fish!! Katherine and Sarah liked this part the best, as I suspect most children would! The quarter machine wouldn't work for the food, so they got an entire styrofoam cup full of food instead.

Exploring the Canyon!

I had a paper to write, so off went the girls to the canyon for exploring! Here are some pictures of their trip. I'm looking forward to going with them next time!!

Then and Now...Goldilocks

Here is a picture of Sarah as a newborn and one of her now. Like her sister, she is still as cute as ever, but goodness, she has grown!

Then and Now...Little Red

I was going through some old pictures of the girls (well...not really THAT old since they are still quite young!) and thought it would be fun to post a newborn picture and a current picture of her. Amazing how time flies! She's still cute as a button. :)

Discovery!

The baby birds we took a picture of now have an identity! This morning while I was opening Katherine's windows, I saw Mama and Papa Cardinal feeding their babies. It's neat to be able to watch so closely the growth and development of our little friends...just as long as we don't bother them too much! Mama is VERY protective and if she sees us on the other side of the window, she disappears. So we'll be keeping the shades drawn more for the next couple weeks. Perhaps this means it will be a good season for our favorite baseball team??? :)

Hop, Hop, Tweet

The girls had a visitor in their clubhouse today! We also discovered a nest of baby birds! They had a lot of fun pretending to be a frogs and birds, but once the frog started to hop up the wall of their clubhouse, they were more interested in running away! Then they decided that the baby birds needed food, so we refilled the bird feeders too. Here are some pictures of our discoveries and one of Katherine investigating her visitor.

In Our Backyard

The girls helped me find things to take pictures of today while we were out "exploring" in the yard. They happened to find all the blooming flowers, which turned out to be very pretty pictures. This is the best we can do to share our exploring with you! Katherine is especially proud of the little daisy, while Sarah likes the purple flowers the best. :)
