Katherine was drawing the other day and said, "I think this face needs some blinks." Intrigued, I looked at her picture to watch her add eyelashes to the happy face on her page. I said, "Oh, you mean eyelashes." She looked at me very seriously, pointed to her eyes, blinked hard a few times, and repeated, "Blinks mom. Blinks."

Sarah's First Day of School

I registered Sarah for the 3-year-old program at the school, but she doesn't go very often. Today was her first day, and she was NOT happy about it at first. Finally, after I told her she would get to play, she softened up to the idea and took a couple not-so-grumpy pictures. However....right before she left, she threw a fit (crying, yelling, stomping her feet) saying, "I don't want to go to school!!!!" Funny how her spirits changed when she got there and saw all the neat things to do!

"Hello, my name is Katherine. Do you like my earrings?"

That is exactly what Katherine asked every single person we passed after she got her ears pierced. :) So, it probably comes as no big surprise that she was happy to pose for some pictures to show them off!

Future Soccer Star

Katherine asked to sign up for soccer this year, and her practices have finally started! Here she is on her first night of soccer practice. :) I have to admit, watching a bunch of 4-year-olds play soccer is quite a sight, but what matters is that she loves it!

Yee-Haw!

Here is the picture from Sarah's pony ride while she was with Daddy this summer! She looks a little less enthusiastic than Katherine did, but she still had a great time!

Architect in Training

Katherine and Sarah love to play with horses, and earlier this morning Katherine was using wooden blocks as hay for her horses. They then decided that they would build a farm at the lego table. Sarah wasn't too interested in helping, but she did enjoy watching her sister in action!

Soccer Star

Katherine decided she wanted to sign up for soccer this year, and I have to admit, I was a bit apprehensive. But after watching her run around Aunt Deb's backyard this weekend with the Ellen and Anne Marie, I think she will do just fine!

It Don't Mean a Thing If It Ain't Got That Swing...

We don't have a swingset at home, so the girls really enjoyed swinging on Aunt Deb's! Maybe the Easter Bunny might consider that next year....hmmm.... :)

Welcome to the Clubhouse

We were in Breese over the weekend, and we stopped by Aunt Deb's house for a little while. The girls enjoyed climbing in the clubhouse (though it made me a little nervous since I'm not a huge fan of heights!).

Everybody Dance!

The girls LOVE to dance to Bon Jovi's "One Wild Night." It's so fun to watch them get so into it! We were even out to eat the other night and Katherine asked, "Can we listen to Bon Jovi?" The waitress walking by stopped and asked, "Did she just ask to listen to Bon Jovi?" We laughed and told her yes. She replied by saying, "Wow...what a cool kid!" :) Here are the girls dancing the night away!

Pony Ride!

Katherine and Sarah both enjoyed a pony ride while they were at Daddy's house this summer. He sent them each a framed picture of their rides, but Katherine's picture turned out very dark. So, he sent a picture over email for her to view while he works on fixing it and sending a new one for her frame. I've asked him to send one over email of Sarah too, and I will get her posted as soon as I get it! Looks like fun, doesn't it?!?

On another note, Katherine's friend Seren has horses at her house, and when I told this to Katherine, she gave me a disgusted sigh. I asked, "What was that for??" She replied cooly, "Mom, you never told me that my friend had horses. Why would you do that to me?" I just laughed. She's a nut!

Little Red's First Day of School!

Katherine had her very first day of pre-school on Wednesday. She was very excited and couldn't wait to get out the door! In fact, at the end of the day, she didn't want to leave school. Fortunately, one of her friends from the golf course, Seren, is in her class, so she already knew someone on the first day of school. They are growing up so quickly, aren't they?
